We are living in critical times regarding human rights. One of the most significant areas in this regard is the global refugee crisis. According to the Global Trends Report by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR):

"At the end of 2021, the total number of people forcibly displaced from their homes due to conflicts, violence, fears of persecution, and human rights violations worldwide reached 89.3 million. This figure is more than double the 42.7 million forcibly displaced people a decade ago, making it the highest since World War II."

The report also reveals that in 2021, the number of refugees worldwide increased from 20.7 million to 21.3 million. This does not include Venezuelan displaced persons abroad, whose numbers also increased from 3.9 million to 4.4 million during the same period.

At Moved to Serve International, we recognize the refugee crisis not only as a human rights issue but also as a circumstance that influences and impacts other areas such as domestic violence, child abuse, education, and technology.

Refugees, particularly women and children, face significant challenges and vulnerabilities in their displacement. They often experience heightened risks of domestic violence and child abuse, and their access to education and technology may be limited. By addressing the refugee crisis, we aim to address these interconnected issues and provide support to refugees in rebuilding their lives.
